Nickelodeon has a talent development deal with Cymphonique who is currently 13 years old and can act, sing, and dance. I would think they would develop a series for her as well as maybe working her in to some existing project. But based on the wording of the release, it would seem they are looking to make her a big star, and that means her own show. She could star in a comedy/musical or just a regular comedy series. Sony Music, who has a partnership with Nickelodeon, has also signed her to a record deal. The whole package is wrapped up.

Paula Kaplan from Nickelodeon says “She is extraordinarily talented for somebody so young,” and also that “She has great comedic timing, an amazing voice and is very self-assured.”

She should be good competition for the Disney teen star empire. Plus she has built in Master P and Romeo guest spots.

Sly Stone signs a record deal

The former Sly & the Family Stone frontman is said to be working on an album for release in early summer 2010, featuring new original material and re-recorded versions of his greatest hits.
